Residential

Residential has to be the one building type every architect loves to work on. There are less restrictive building codes and no committees or teams of executives that require unanimous voting for paint color approvals. When a person comes to an architect and has them develop residential building plans, a lot of times the result is intended to be the home of their dreams. This can be an intoxicating combination, and if it’s not monitored properly it can end with disastrous results. The cost to build a home comes straight out of someone’s paycheck and it is important to remember there’s no return on investment with a home. So, while we all love to reach for the stars as we build the house of someone’s dreams, we also like to keep our feet rooted in the project budget and schedule to ensure the client’s dreams become a reality.
